Yvonne Sheppard was born in Chicago, Illinois, and then grew up in Crown Point, Indiana.  Both of her parents were professional teachers, her father in music, and her mother in middle school English.  At the age of 3, Yvonne realized she needed to be saved after hearing a Sunday School lesson on the gospel.

When she was 14, her parents enrolled her in Bob Jones Academy, where she began her high school years as the youngest dorm student on campus.  She then attended Bob Jones University and Valparaiso University and graduated from Bob Jones in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Music Education.  She and her husband, Mike, were married in August of 1991.

When wrestling with different career paths toward the end of college, Yvonne dedicated her life to Christian ministry, specifically as a Christian school teacher, and God led her to Falls Baptist Academy in 1989 to start a band program and teach junior high English.  Very quickly Yvonne realized her love for teaching English, and God allowed her to move into that role at Calvary Baptist School, in Menomonee Falls, where she taught high school English for 15 years and directed the high school choir for 13 of those years.

In 2006, the Lord led Yvonne back to the ministry of Falls Baptist Church, and she joined the faculties of the Academy and Baptist College of Ministry, where she taught English courses until 2015. She now teaches an English methods course and supervises in the education department as well as the Academy. She loves working with young, developing teachers and sharing with them the excitement of teaching and working with young people.

Yvonne and Mike spend most of their vacations fishing either in Kentucky or northern Wisconsin, and they like to stop for coffee at Dunkin Donuts and Tim Hortons whenever possible.
