Dr. Robert Shaw was born and raised in Wallace, West Virginia and was saved as a 19-year-old college student.  He met his wife, Karen, while in college at a Christmas party.  They have been blessed with three children, 2 girls and a boy, and 16 grandchildren.  After earning a degree in Business Administration at Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV he felt the Lord leading him to further his education at Bob Jones University where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.

Following graduation, he became a church planter in rural Ohio where he served for over 23 years and during that time earned his Doctorate of Ministry degree.  After successfully leading the church through two building programs debt free, he felt God leading to help in the foundation of BCM and began teaching in the fall of 1999. He served as a professor, dean of men, and in many other capacities while serving in this ministry for over 5 years.  God then clearly led him to take the senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Kettering, Ohio where he served for over ten years.  He stepped down as senior pastor in 2015 and continues to serve at Grace as Pastor Emeritus while teaching in mission fields, BCM and filling pulpits as God opens doors.  The ministry of Grace was turned over to a young man he had mentored for several years.

He enjoys spending time with his wife visiting antique stores and historical sites and with his grandchildren teaching them to fish and hunt.  He has a personal love for history and enjoys reading.  He has a heart for teaching young people and is passionate to be used as an encourager and mentor to young pastors.
