Pastor Nathan Deatrick was born in 1975 in Crown Point, IN, where his parents were finishing Bible College.  His dad led him to Christ in a Revival Meeting in March of 1980 at the Central Baptist Church in Granite City, IL.  He surrendered to preach the Gospel as a 17-year-old boy, though he had already been preaching regularly for nearly 2 years.  It was during Bible college that he realized specifically that the Lord had gifted him to be a pastor-teacher.

Nathan met his wife Jenny during Bible college.  They have celebrated 20 wonderful years of marriage in which the Lord has blessed them with 3 daughters and 1 son.  Beginning at age 15, he has been preaching regularly for over 28 years, has served as an assistant pastor in two ministries for 11 years, taught at Ambassador Baptist College for over three years.  Most recently he planted Crossroads Baptist Church in Columbus, NC, and has pastored this growing church since 2010.

He began teaching Baptist History at BCM in 2015.  In 2006, he authored the Baptist Primer.  He loves to read.  Second to the Lord’s Day, he loves Monday because it is family day at his house, or what he calls “Disciple-My-Family-Day.”  He is passionate about church planting and driven by 2 Timothy 2:2, believing that passion is the glue that sticks truth to the next generation!
