Helen O’Bryon grew up in Silver Cliff, WI and attended High School in Huntington Beach, California. She came to know the Lord as her Savior at the age of seven through the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Following high school, the Lord used the Book of Acts to inspire her to prepare for Christian ministry and led her to attend Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York, where she received a Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE) degree. It was there she met her husband Ron who was preparing for the preaching ministry. She continued education courses throughout the years at Cortland State University, Cortland, New York; Western State University at Danbury Connecticut; Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, and completed her Master’s in Teaching (Mat) at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, MI. As part of her degree, she developed an Interactive Reading Curriculum for Intermediate Students.

Helen began teaching at Baptist College of Ministry in 2004. Helen and her husband Ron presently live in Manitowoc, WI where they began a church plant in 2006. They have carried out short term missionary ministries in the West Indies and in the Philippines. They have travelled to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Helen’s favorite past-times are discipling young Christians, interior decorating, writing, and spending time with three sons and their families. Ten granddaughters and seven grandsons crown their lives! As a Language Arts Major, she finds it exciting and an honor to help aspiring teachers explore the power and use of language and to see them practice creative, effective teaching methods. She notes that it is often a life-changing experience for students to become equipped to educate others and to develop their own God-given gifts in the field of teaching.
