 The Falls Baptist Music School offers a variety of training opportunities during the academic school year. Please take time to read the information below and register online.

 A separate calendar for the year will be posted (lesson weeks, concerts, etc.).

 Private lesson schedules will be available no later than the week before lessons begin.

 Parent information packets will be sent to families after registration is complete.

 There is a $10.00 registration fee per student ($25.00 maximum per family). No registration fee for Music for Babes or Violin for Tots.

MUSIC FOR BABES/TOTS CLASSES

Music For Babes

  • A fun and interactive class for mothers and babies featuring fundamentals of movement in the context of music.  Mothers will enjoy this special time to bond with their child. 

    Ages:  0-2 years

    Time:  Babes-Tuesdays, 11:15 a.m., Saturdays, 11:00 a.m.

    Length:  30 minutes

    Fee:  $40 for both semesters

    Register soon to hold place!  Maximum size of class is 10 children. 

    Note:  For mothers who attend Face to Face, a ladies’ Bible Study and interactive fellowship time each Tuesday morning, pre-school children can attend a well-structured child care for free.  Included in this training is a music class for children ages 2-4 years (sometimes 18 month-24 month also participate).  No registration necessary


     

    Register

     

    A four semester program designed to teach toddlers the basic skills of violin playing in a fun and interactive environment.  A few semesters or the entire four semester program is advisable prior to formal violin instruction.  

    Ages:  2-4 years

    Time:  Tuesday mornings and Saturday mornings (when you register, please request the day).   Times based on registrants.  

    Length:  30 minutes (semester 4 is 40 minutes)

    Fee per semester:  $40.00  ($80 for year)

    • Note:  If you register for classes 1-3 for the fall semester, your child will automatically be registered in classes 2-4 during second semester. 
      • If your child begins in Semester 4, then you will have the option of private lessons beginning in January.
    • Students may register for a new semester (as beginning Violin for Tots) in January. 

    Clarification:

    Violin for Tots 1: Brand new beginners

    Violin for Tots 2-3:  Students must continue in sequence

    Violin for Tots 4: Same as above, but students will begin to incorporate real violin training

Interested in Beginner lessons?   

  • Violin Students (age 3 to 3 1/2) must complete at least one semester of Violin for Tots before beginning private lessons. 
  • We will accept violin students without prior training at age 4
  • We will accept piano and cello students around age 7 (please call for an appointment if you are interested in a younger child beginning)
  • We will accept woodwind and brass students at 5th grade and above.

Private Lessons and Group Lessons

 Private Lessons:  Students will receive between 12-14 weeks of lessons per semester.  These weeks are now set up in a progression to help students develop and enhance the learning process (from basics to mastery of a piece(s) in each semester).  Each lesson week will cover fundamental skill set drill, technique refinement through etudes and pieces, and musical mastery.  Additional helper lessons will be assigned upon request. 

Group Lessons: Weekly group lessons are offered in addition to private lessons.  These classes cover technique review, group pieces, music theory (for younger student; separate class for students 5th grade and up), and solo performance. 

        Tuesdays, 11:30-12:00—Piano, 2nd-4th grade

        Tuesdays, 12:05-1:05—Piano, 5th-12th grade

        Tuesdays, 12:15-1:05--Strings, Pre-school through 4th grade

        Tuesdays, 2:35-4:00—Strings, 5th-12th grade

        Tuesdays, 2:35-4:00—Winds/Brass, 5th-12th grade

Ensembles: Students in 5th grade and up (4th grade students, if at appropriate level) will participate in level appropriate ensembles (Baroque Strings, Chamber Strings, Prep Band, Concert Band).  There is an additional materials fee for non-Academy students.

Fees:

      30 minute lesson package:  $435/year; $43.50/month x 10 months (August through May)

      45 minute lesson package:  $540/year; $54.00/month x 10 months (August through May)

      60 minute lesson package:  $645/year; $64.50/month x 10 months (August through May)

      Ensemble Materials Fee

  • (Non-Academy): $100/year
  • (Academy): $25/year

 

Payments are due the 1st of every month, August through May.  Even though lessons do not begin until September, the monthly payments are distributed over 10 months, August through May.

Receive a 2.5% discount if you pay the semester in full by August 1st.

Payments may be placed in an envelope (please label clearly) and deposited in the secure payment slot outside of the Academy Office.

       New This Year:  Saturdays, 9:00-10:00—Winds/Brass, 5th-12th grade (Music Hall)

Ensembles: String students in 5th grade and up (if at Intermediate Level—final decisions made by administration) will have the opportunity to participate in a string orchestra weekly 12:00-12:30 (Music Hall).  A separate schedule will be available (please note that there are fewer orchestra weeks than group weeks).  Additional fee.

 

Bible Club: Students will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting, action-packed 30 minute Bible Club. This weekly time includes Bible memory, songs, team-based activities, and Bible lessons.

 

Fees:

       30 minute lesson package:  $425/year; $42.50/month x 10 months (August through May)

       Ensemble (5th grade and up at intermediate level):  $80.00 for the year
